Tell me about stupid processes you have/had that don’t make sense

I work for a niche-ish company in the IoT space and we have to submit our quotes for approval before presenting to the customer (normal). however as part of the process we have to take everything out of salesforce and manually enter it into excel and then reattach it to salesforce 🥵

ok you go now.

I work for a company acquired by Salesforce and so we have to use two different instances of the CRM and shit never syncs right so I have up update ops TWICE.

I hate anything that duplicates process efforts. Logging things in two different places etc. Too many examples to list, but I guarantee every sales person ever has experienced something like this.

Duplicative manual data entry for something that is or can be automated = angry dolphin noises

Takes a deep breath. This was our process until December. It’s shockingly not uncommon. I have PTSD now

Submit a form for internal request to automate starting the trial.
But then never hear from my team and still need to manually bug them to get the shit done and trial started.
Gotta love inefficiency and adding steps to over complicate shit. SMH

I work at a cloud consultant where AEs use SDR meetings to butter up reps at the cloud provider we work with.

Reps used to ask us to make a spreadsheet every email click and open and call and tell them about every call conversation so they could share with the reps.

One rep even asked me to write down every person I had called, emailed, and reached out to on LinkedIn, even if they didn’t respond. I refused to do it & switched AEs

This is one of the reasons why I always make good acquaintance with some of the tech goofs, if you kiss the right ass at the company get together, you automatically get the ability to get them to make your life easier 😎🤓

There is a way to automate that process in SF, but it’s expensive and unless you’re in a M to L company, it’s probably not financially worthwhile.

Honestly they just need to add input forms and save it but enough about me, tell me about your stupid TPS reports ;)

Ive known a few people that work there. It sounds like success really depends on the team you land on, the product you sell, and your book of business. If you land in the right spot it can be a gravy train. If not youre kinda fucked.
