This is the dumbest shit

Why the fuck would I want to go "relax" surrounded by a bunch of co-workers? How about pay me more, give me more time off and get my away from the "Ohana" cult? Fuck this. I'm so glad I don't work there.

EDIT: Bravado asked me to remove homie's name in the image. Instead I just deleted the image. So for those new, Salesforce built this "retreat" for employees.

Itโ€™s for QBRs, off-sites,ย and shit lol itโ€™s not to go for a relaxing weekend. I am actually kind of excited to go there for a QBR rather than flying to one of the offices and sitting in a stuffy conference room while we get bent over by leadership.

And to be fair - we all hate the โ€œOhanaโ€ crap

Which means that Salesforce may actually save money not having to find locations and pay resort/hotel/conference center rates to put employees up for key meetings.ย  ย

Why are you so pressed about this? You don't work there. And even if you did, they don't force you to go there.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
They donโ€™t force you to but a lot of companies put a lot of pressure on doing things like this.
Also, people follow Salesforceโ€™s example and I donโ€™t think this is a trend we want set. People have taken control of their lives from companies and this is a step back to how things were.

so, the only thing I can say is that many people dont have a great home to work from.ย

Some work in tiny apartments, some have many ppl living with them, having a place to go to get away is actually super important. Im privileged enough to have my own office in my house.ย

but it wasnt always that way, and I looked forward to going into the office because it was a break from the chaos of home and a way to unplug.ย

although I do not think I have worked with ppl and though, "man I would LOVE to go relax with you guys" ๐Ÿ˜‚

So true to your first point. I think back to when I was younger and living with others and if I had to work from home then, I'd have jumped out the window. If you sign up for remote work the expectation is that you're set up to do so properly, but so many people have been directed to wfh by their company and yeah...if you live in a studio apartment or with two room mates and three animals it's not ideal at all.

For the first time in a while, after something tragic happened in my community over the weekend, I felt very isolated yesterday.ย  I really would have liked to have had an office to go into.ย  So, as a remote employee, having a nice option would be great every now and again.

I mean, if they aren't forcing me to work from there I wouldn't really care. Could the money be better spent on other shit? For sure. But I feel like the top reps at SF are doing just fine.

Have you seen the Facebook campus in California itโ€™s highly disturbing!! I think Amazon is doing something similar too. Company towns were awful in the past and corporations should not be bringing this back

I hated the P Club rewards of a trip as you had to go with others at the company and do team dinners. Whatโ€™s the point of a paid vacation if you canโ€™t get away from coworkers

I think this is meant to be a place for holding company events and such. I think SFDC is an org that cares more about their employees than many other companies that are similar in size and even some smaller ones.

Anyone in this thread work there? Can you give us some insights?
I wish I worked somewhere with that kind of resources. I feel so completely unsupported most days at work.
Also this campus kinda looks like the one from devs on hbo looool
