This deal took me ~4 months to close. Met the prospect in person at a trade show. Met 4-5 times before closing.
This was one of the first deals I was conscientious of the "No unilateral concessions" rule. When they asked for a discount, I basically offered to remove their implementation fees if they signed the proposal by August 1st so our implementation team would have more time to set things up.
I could tell they were interested and appreciated the logic behind the discount instead of just offering them one for no reason. Definitely helped close the deal and build trust.
