Vyvanse and sales

For the ones diagnozed - have you noticed the difference on and off the meds? For me it's  been  a game changer.
I am really curious to learn whether anyone's performance has improved as well. One positive aspect is that I am more efficient than before. 😄

That’s for ADHD right? I’m not diagnosed but I’ve been considering going to see. We went through the process with my son last year and got him on some meds (can’t remember the name) and they’ve been amazing for him. Going through the questionnaires made a lot of things click for me and my childhood! I’ve tried his meds and I can’t believe how clear my head gets, but other than that I self medicate with copious amounts of caffeine

Yes, it’s usually hereditary so at least one of the family members is likely to have it.

Most likely you have it as well if you feel that way.

It’s a bit too much of a coincidence that so many with ADHD are in sales lol. I’m far from the only one diagnosed at my job. Sales checks a lot of the boxes that drive neurodivergent people thrive on.

That being said, I SUCKED AT Pipeline management, setting time blocks to prospect, and even following up with emails.

After being diagnosed and being on Vyvanse I have seen much improvement. It’s not a miracle drug, I’ve been going through cognitive behavior therapy also to understand my cues and how to manage my symptoms.

Overall I’ve been developing more of a foundation that has helped me be a lot more consistent. I’ve always relied on my natural ability to be conversational and build rapport, and my ability to “figure it out” as I go lol.

Now I feel more at ease with stronger foundations on the BORING work of sales and it helps me on days that I don’t feel as motivated

Maybe I just haven't been in the right circles, but I feel like this free flow of ADHD meds (and others, like anti-anxiety) is very American. Never really hear about it in Canada.

I know the pharmaceutical industry/culture is something else, but I always find comment threads like these wild.

In Europe this is hardcore regulated. I mean it can take a long time to get a diagnosis.

lol Vyvanse is literally the "Limitless" drug (If you haven't seen the Bradly Cooper flick OR the follow up TV show, you're missing out) Vyvanse treats my ADD and my Depression. Just get ready for the $300 a bottle w/insurance price tag. Of course it makes it better, it's legal cocaine and a defrag machine for your brains hard drive all in one. Great news they finally have a generic version but currently almost every dosage is on back order. I imagine it will be a quarter or two until it corrects itself.

Remember to eat and sleep and I've found that a dose ever other day keeps me on a good level instead of 100% day in and day out. Also, weed helps level you out when it's got you wired.

Agree - it's the limitless pill. Probably why I love that movie so much

I really wouldn't call it a Limitless pill - it´s really a complex idea to have adhd and to be medicated on it. The condition itself comes with a lot of advantages such as creativity and ability to swith between different tasks multiple times faster than a neurotypical person so the medication helps you become more focused and quietens the mind but for that benefit you pay often the price of creativity and task switching abilities so those get reduced and a lot more. I really wouldn't call it Limitless but yeah it helps tremendously to get tasks done and in sales it has helped me a lot.

Definitely a game changer, but made the mistake of being on too high of a dose (made me feel on the edge and harder time sleeping).

It’s a test and see type of a game with adhd meds.

It really depends on one’s genetics.

Adderall ER definitely helps me. Everyone is different. Talk to your doctor.

Yeah, genetics play a big role on what meds work best.

This has changed my life. I went 35 years without knowing I had ADHD. Got diagnosed recently a few months ago and it feels like the noise that was floating around my head vanished. It’s allowed me to focus on the tasks that need to be completed without being distracted with other tasks becoming a priority over what I’m working on. It’s hard to explain but for me without it…it’s like having a bunch of shiny objects floating around a bulls eye and the only thing I can focus on are the shiny objects. With the medication, the shiny objects completely disappear and the only thing I’m focused on is the bulls eye and finishing what I’m working on. Regardless of how tedious the task is…

Not diagnosed but I have used it I’m in sales, I notice I talk more on the phone, but I can also sit down and call for hours without a break

Definitely. Especially if I take after a break. I'm laser focused, can eat properly, am forced to drink water. I knock out my to do list but I find the most return on things that require physical activity.
Additionally, I've found a difference between the brand name and the generic.
