1099 Contractor

I was offered a 1099 position, they are saying the work
schedule is M-F 9am-6pm but there is no base pay or
hourly pay. It's commission only. Are they allowed to
force me to work on a set schedule without paying
me? There is also 5 days of unpaid training. Is this
right or very wrong? I always thought you make your
own schedule as a 1099 contractor etc. Should I take
this position?

I wouldn't take a "scheduled" job without a base. I'm 1099 and one of the key benefits is I do what I want when I want.

Definitely a hard pass. Being able to set your own schedule is one of the perks when it comes to 1099 positions.

Your contract type, my current is "contractor" regardless if you work in consulting.

Deal Story
wolfmaster closed Travel Visa Filing Startup for $5k to the IT / Security / DevOps department
Okay, This was a Boring Deal & I offered them to signup and gave them the flexibility to start at their convenience. Since it was a startup, cash crunch and all sort of things, I had to be like oka...
Say congrats!
