2 years in, when should I leave?

company is great, comp is decent.

Im just not seeing career growth as its a flat organization.

Had some interviews, got an offer. Could not pull the trigger as it was only about $30k bump in salary to start fresh.

That being said when do you need to try something new? or have I found the "One"?

“Company is great. Comp is decent. +30k wasn’t enough to move.” All I needed to hear. Stay put. Play the long game. You leave now and you’ll never know where this road will take you. Sometimes a job is just a fucking job. Yours sounds like a good one. Take up bowling.

Seriously. If a $30K bump in BASE isn't compelling, then that's all you need to know.

Be happy

OTE, should have mentioned that. Base jump was $10k.

Thank you for reminding me our comps are structured with base+commission haha

I have been reading articles of my age demographic putting too much into our work.

There used to be church, family gatherings, and etc back in the day. But more people my age focus on work, social media, and digital things.

I have taken up international traveling but realized unlimited PTO is not really unlimited…

Unlimited PTO is as much a fastasy as uncapped commissions.

Agreed! This job market is absolutely 💯 nuts. What if you leave and then get laid-off 4 months later? I reccomend you stay and see if you can expand your current role, ask for challenges, bring in more revenue somehow. Do more than what's asked. Show them you are a superstar and irreplaceable. Then, when this horrible job market improves, make a move at that later date.

You move on when you wake up every morning miserable and stressed. When it no longer serves you.

Not there yet!

Just a curious kid with a decent resume.

I remmeber when I started looking for work and it was the toughest thing.
Now its easier but still a challenge.

I get it, the work gets boring, the tasks become routine. I am also assuming that you’re probably getting paid well since a 30k didn’t make you twitch.

Just wait for the right opportunity! Sometimes 2 years are less, sometimes 2 yrs are late.

Talk to your management, if you don’t see anything moving in the next 9-12 months then grab the best opportunity coming your way.

I agree.

I like this app as it verifies some thoughts and challenges others.

Seems like a safe place to talk about what I am thinking. Wish I could tell my co-workers but in fear of getting snaked.

There’s no such thing as “the one”. That said, you sound pretty content. I would stay and gain experience.

So simple but I have not tried it.

I know I want a better opportunity, just that I have not found it.

Let it be known, someone mentioned its just a job. Should take up other things that I like, maybe social media?

I agree with the majority, if it isn't enough for you to leave, then stay. At the end of the day it's up to you.

Trying to figure it out.

Have been seeing the whole product market fit, or find a product you really want to sell.

Have been targeting some companies that with great potential but those are harder to break into.

If you’re doing well and making good money, ride it out. the only way you leave is for a 50k base bump elsewhere. Closing for a sustained period of time is a differentiator on your resume 5+ year role is next level

Thats good to know. Dont want to look like a job hopper.

I am above average compared to my peers but theres like 250 of us. So not at a monster of a company with 1k+ reps.

Getting lucky is part of the job.

Have you talked to your leadership about growth? If the company is great, then they likely have an idea for you long term...Have the conversation, I bet you'll be surprised.

We chatted about it. Theres a leadership program that has a 8 week training.

After that you go on a 2 year review. At the end you have to move to open a new office or you are next in line for your office (if someone leaves / promoted)

The company is privately held and seems family run at this point.
