Yes ballpark that is right. $50k annually is $4,166 monthly gross. They are withholding 30% of your check. I also don't know if that includes health insurance or 401k contributions.
If it doesn't, no you don't really owe 30% on that salary and will get a tax refund next year. You could probably adjust it and get more every month but no refund next year. If you are paying your health insurance out of your check and doing any 401k investing out of your check I probably wouldn't mess with it much or you may owe in taxes in April.

I have cried 2 nights straight over my taxes. I think there's nothing more I hate as of today, than taxes.

your paystub should say exactly where all the other $$ are going. asking a forum online with people all over the world if your paystub is right is alarming. to be frank, i'd read a financial literacy book asap so you can understand more as well as ways to save/budget for the future.

E T - Your net income depends on the exemptions, if any, you claimed on your W-4 when you onboarded. It also depends on other voluntary payroll deductions like retirement plans, subsidized or otherwise, health insurance contributions, and state income tax. Social security deductions are also a constant.

Your payroll frequency would help too. Is this your first adult employment experience? If you want a straight answer, post your paystub and redact the employer info.

My salary is the same and it's very close to what my monthly take home is. Your exact figure will depend on what is getting deducted from your pay based on your situation.
