Best way to reference consulting or a side hustle on CV and LinkedIn?

I've been doing some consulting and also started my own business while I've been on the bench looking for a new SaaS role.
What do people think is the best way to show this on my CV and LinkedIn. It would be really helpful to have it in there prominently to fill my career gap but my business is only in its early stages so its hard to quantify success.

keen to hear if anyone else has had the same issue.

Thanks

I would only do it when relevant. Some employers can be put off by it as well

I agree. A company wants you to be bought all into the company, not screwing around with side gigs. Not that the side gigs are bad, just need to be a secret in my opinion. Obviously there are exceptions...

I speak to it when asked, or add it when Iโ€™m speaking to someone where it is relevant

If you need it to cover a job gap cool. But I wouldn't highlight it ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Exactly. It's a way to explain a job gap.

I agree and those are my concerns, but how do we better own the narrative? For example we applaud someone doing an MBA that takes up 25 hours a week outside their main job

The MBA isn't potentially in conflict with the work, though. That is hours spent earning a degree, not sourcing business, for example.

Keep to yourself but name drop the companies worked with if you can, and it helps the convo.

I would add your LLC as your most current job and add a summary of what youโ€™ve been doing under that company. Keep it semi brief just to get their attention. You can talk about specific companies and day to day when in the interview.
