Dogs of War Room - Salesdogs with real dogs, what's up?!

One of the only upsides of the pandemic has been it's impact on my company's perception of the value of working from home. It basically had no adverse effect on business and now we're fully hybrid.

With that being the case, I recently adopted a dog and it's been great.

Anybody else done the same or thinking of doing the same?

This is my guy. He sometimes snore whilst I am on calls but he has also proved to be great ammo / small talk subject matter with prospects.

He's also my best friend and the sweetest soul ever. Having him has taught me so much already and he encourages me to seek out a better work/life balance every single day.

Keen to see the other Dogs of War Room.

Dogs lead to healthier lifestyles too since you always have to walk them and get outside. I do Wag! on the side and currently watching a cute Labradoodle, but looking forward to getting my own dog when I move out of the apartment I'm currently living in to a place that allows dogs.

You're so right! I live alone and whilst I did try to get out of the house on walks whilst WFH, I would basically always just walk in silence the whole time. With him, I'm out every day and the number of interactions I have with people that want to say hi or other dog owners is crazy.

Was surprised as to how much of a benefit even such minor social interactions can grant you.

My dog lays down in her dog bed by my home desk while I work. It makes me happy to have her and it helps break up my day by taking short walks with her so I don't work too long.

Brought home an 8 week old Alaskan Malamute back in January. A handful, but an angel all the same.

I don't think I'm yet to fully appreciate how much hard work a puppy is. Rémy is a rescue and is 4/5. He's had a really tough life so comes with his own challenges but he's a good egg. Best to you and your angel @mitts2!

Love my pup but I have to keep a bowl of kibble on my desk in case he starts barking mid call. I chuck kibble across the room to shut him up lol

It’s not always the case, but sometimes the legal team feels like they need to show that they contributed to SOMETHING in the process. In the past I’ve told them “These are the only 4 things I was able to get approved to change. I’ve changed them. Are we good now?”.
