Don’t love the product I sell and the issues it solves

At my last company, I loved the product but got to be fed up with the way the sales org ran and the unrealistic expectations. Now at my new company, I'm happy with the treatment and care for those of us slinging, but I can't bring myself to appreciate the product.  Genuinely not interested, and this makes learning, demoing, and pitching tougher.
what have those of you in a similar position before done?

Honestly, it’s always something. You take for granted the things that work well at your current org and assume the next opportunity will be better as long as it doesn’t carry any of the same pitfalls…

I’ve bounced around a lot in my career and if there is a company out there that ticks all the boxes, I certainly haven’t found it.

That being said, for me personally, there are few things worse than selling a product that I completely don’t connect with or believe in. That will eat at me from the inside out.

Yeah you said it. The good news is I use the product myself but its moreso I don’t connect with the aspect we are actually pitching/selling. The product itself cool. The functionality we sell, boring.

Figure out what you're working for. As in what are your personal goals. Try to connect each demo, email, call, close to helping you reach that end goal.

That is assuming it's simply a lack of interest and not a moral conviction creating the dilemma.

A. What's the product/problem it solves maybe we can help you see it in a different light?
B. That sucks, I sold phones for AT&T reseller and I feel the darkness in my soul come back up in my gut just from thinking about those days. Maybe talk to the org and you should working on something else with them instead of selling?
C. Hold out until greener pastures.

I know I can't sell anything I don't believe in, at some level. I just can't. And I won't be successful. Sounds like you're the same way. I recommend using your current job to find something else.

Find one thing you like about the product and focus on that. As long as there is good PMF and a good org, you are in a good spot

Are you passionate about wheels?
What about bread?

Probably not, but how you gonna go get a sandwich without them? I think we all want to sell the product that solves everything. But let’s face it, it’s software. We sell it for a living. It pays well. All in all, it’s not so bad.

Nothing is perfect but I am sure you don't hate what you hate 100%. Sometimes it takes time to just keep patience. Result - you might start liking it or start hating it and you know your next steps :)

You're right,as why would someone care about a product even if he likes it in case he couldn't find the required support when needed from his manager or facing any other mgmt issues.
To me as long as you can understand the product and know how to pitch it with a promising and stable working environment that should be my place!

no job is perfect, I haven't been excited for any product I sell, I just hope there is a market for it and that's it. also kinda helps if someone insults it and then you're just like yeah I'll roll the feedback up and won't be insulted.

If it solves a need and is valuable, hopefully you can get behind that. It beats selling a nice-to-have in this environment. And if you’re otherwise treated well and anticipate doing well, perhaps over time you’ll feel better about the solution itself. Remind yourself why you changed companies (treatment) and why you work (goals, etc) and that the job is a means to an end. It doesn’t have to define you. However, if you’re still uninspired after a few months and it’s affecting you so you’re struggling at work, consider moving on at that point, but maybe you’re still adjusting to something new and experiencing some discomfort in the process.

Fake it until you make it.
True happiness is found through self-reflection, meditation, yoga, and etc. It's unrealistic to expect it in the sales world, mush less a sales world driven by capitalism.
Have you ever talked to someone you weren't interested in?Have you practiced doing your pitch and demo and etc? All you have to do is practice being excited and you will be.

Take a look at your next paycheck with the commission. Does that make you happy? If you enjoyed it, you know what to do.

If you aren't interested, your prospects will know it. Sales is a transfer of enthusiasm.
