Email is dead (insert dramatic dun dun dun)

LinkedIn is popping off and we are finally coming full circle from "cold calling is dead" right to "email is dead, better pick up the phone" all from one little message that Outreach sent to everyone.

While this is a ๐Ÿ’ฉpost, I am curious on how everyone thinks it might affect them.

Personally, it shouldn't change much because I am not a fan of emailing (read: kinda bad at it.)

They're both crowded channels but I feel like they work best when threaded together. Ex: Leave VM tell them you're gonna email, then email.
If you wanna get better at email, you must learn to copywrite. Ca$hvertising is a great book if you want to learn.

VM -> email letting them know I left a VM is typically my move. Straight cold email is not a strong suit for me.

What is the current temp of cold calls these days? Besides being cold, smart asses...I haven't really done any in a while, no need. Used to all the time and also in-person cold calls.

Both have issues - only in that if someone isn't ready to talk, you're not going to get engagement, regardless of communication channel.
People just love hyperbole.

Email effectiveness is already questionable. When you have to send out 10k emails just to get 1 leadโ€ฆ

Cold calling will always be the most effective way to cold prospect.

Combo always, plus if a sales rep themselves is sending out over 5000 emails a day I think that's going to raise a few eyebrows

Its all cyclical for what approach works but to say an entire channel is dead is just silly

Have seen the Cold call is dead, Linkedin is dead, now it's email. From personal experience all those channels are heavily saturated when used solely, multithreading and having cadences covering all 3 has worked and I'm sure will continue to work.
