Fan of Gong?

My old company took a run at using Gong. It seemed that after they finally drug us all into using it on a regular basis, Management stopped sharing the analytics, etc. So its use quickly dropped off.

Are you a fan of Gong? Do you see its value? I see it...somewhat. To me it seems like a Micromanager's wet dream, useful if training newer sales reps, but the worst nightmare for most tenured sales people.

Thoughts?

I think Gong is pretty useful to get info from calls after they’re done. Biggest annoyance is I get emails saying certain deals in pipeline are at risk even if they’re already closed so not sure where they’re getting their info

“ let’s look at your deals forecast on gong” I’d rather shoot myself

Super useful despite the cult culture on LI.

HOWEVER - management teams using it to replace actual mentorship, ghosting of calls, training etc - that is pathetic.

I use it all the time. But I’ve been an AE < 2 years so take that with a grain of salt

People on Bravado overreact. Yes, they are annoying on LinkedIn, but their product is solid. I really enjoyed using it.

Such strong feelings both positive and negative. The tool is awesome and their brand is a powerhouse, but sometimes it feels like the cool kids SaaS army and they act like a bunch of crappy braggarts.

Good for items you forgot to write down, horrible for enabling micromanagement.

The product is great when it comes to conversation snippets and call analyzers. The brand on Linkedin is some sort of weird cult you would like to stay away from xD

I quite like gong aside from their obnoxious approach to social selling. The top reps on our team all have similar and consistent gong stats which is interesting.

I cannot talk and take notes, so I like it for that purpose.

All of their additional features just create more inaccurate noise

WOW!  After a couple days its nearly 50/50.  I'm surprised honestly.  I would have wagered on the anti-fans of Gong.

Product is useful when actually used. I listen to my calls, especially for notes that i missed, but my management never go in to use it for coaching. Would prefer more call feedback to improve. I think a lot of companies waste money on it, but like i said if there is actual buy in, it can very useful.
