Hats on customer facing calls?

I sometimes wear a hat on zoom calls but as I've moved up market, I'm starting to wonder if I should get on a more reliable haircut cadence and keep it well groomed for every customer facing call. I never wear a hat in an executive meeting..

let's hear it WR, should I ditch the hat or am I over thinking it?

Ditch the hat. Comes across as unprofessional and like you dont really care.

Depends on relationship…established customer you text with and send Christmas cards? I’m wearing a hat during any discussion.

New customer? No hat but I’ll still be my authentic self.

Is it a company branded hat?

It’s usually better to err on the side of being “over dressed” nobody will fault you for not wearing a hat, but it would suck to lose a deal because of a hat

Firm no. here is why.
The people that don't care about a hat or not will continue not to care.
The one's that do will make judgements and paint you in a light.
Net: It benefits more not to do it.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk

You’re probably over thinking it, but read your ICP.

Formal Customer facing? No hat. Informal customer meeting? Hat ok. Internal standard meetings? Hats ok. Meeting with executive team? No hat.

Ditch the hat. It says I don't care all that much.

If you are pitching to devs or coders - perfectly fine. If you are pitching to anyone else - comb that hair or shave it off.

Maybe just do a backwards hat. Depends on what you’re selling to and pitching to, you’re pitching to blue collar guys I don’t think it matters, if it’s professionals, look professional

Depends on the hat. I don't mind if it all looks good personally

Personally for me, any customer call, I’m ditching the hat. Internal meetings, y’all are getting a messy hair/hat combo.
