Is the job market improving or getting worse

Trying to learn more about the job market at the moment.

Last week I was in 5 interview processes, received declines from three and haven't been able to add any more interviews into the pipeline.

Is it H1 close time or are the job openings shrinking more?

I think it's getting worse because you have a lot of talented people out there going for things they wouldn't have normally gone after. The market is far more competitive and to stand out amongst the crowd requires a lot more effort than before.

Couple that with recession fears and shrinking budgets and you have an ugly outlook for the job market in my opinion.

Refresh my memory, I must've blacked out when we made this plan and I lost the napkin blueprints.

Honestly giving out faking Hawaiian names while serving drinks like in Forgetting Sarah Marshall sounds awesome

No sign of it improving on my end.

I landed a new opportunity that I thought would be my safety while I consider all my options.

The other options either didn’t want to pay me what I’m worth or were holding out for unicorn candidates.

Hell, the new opportunity didn’t want to pay me what I’m worth either but we eventually reached a compromise.

I still look at job posts to see what’s going on and it just looks like constant reposts of older jobs that may or may not actually exist.

it’s not encouraging from what I can see.

Sorry to be a dick, mostly because I’m unemployed as well, but is that a joke of a question?

Roles get 200+ applicants in 6 hours on LinkedIn. There are thousands of other leaders like me in search, and we all have to fight each other to get the roles.

I’m having more luck with non-tech companies. When I do talk to a tech company they want to pay me senior IC money when I’m a Sr Director+

Specialists, my friend. Specialists with internal connections who will vouch are getting hired. You see the JDs, yeah?

"Seeking a seasoned professional salesperson who has successfully started, run and exited a mobile pet grooming truck. Required 10+ years of QSR sales. Must have JD. Anesthesiology degree a big plus!"

I've heard nobody say it's getting easier.

Unfortunately, it's not great in tech right now and the ones that are hiring are dealing with an abundance of qualified candidates. However, with the fed announcing no further rate hikes along with tech companies beginning to hire again I think there are positives on the near horizon (2-3 months)

Not sure about worst, but not getting better for sure. However, hiring is still happening - if you stand out you have the offer.

Go look at r/sales on reddit right now and see all the PIPs in play for the end of Q2.

Could be some openings soon, though.
