Layoff Proof part Deux

after gaining some reasonable traction on my last post I thought I'd follow up with the second act

many of my fellow korons reached out to ask:
"how the fuck else do you become layoff proof?"

my thought process is simple, and proven by a science based heuristic:

example - what's the safest airport to fly out of? the very one that recently had major mechanical failures, they're security workers finalized a collective bargaining agreement, etc

that's begs the question, where should one try to find work? at the very same companies that JUST laid off hundreds or thousands

how could this go wrong? I mean it's not like lightning would strike twice? the CEO said there would be NO MORE LAYOFFS and the stock has done nothing but go up.

fool proof plan. a layoff proof plan.

ur fucking welcome 😘

The company that laid me off in March did 2 more rounds of layoffs and is now looking at bankruptcy

Out of curiosity, did they overhire in the first place, or did they make a mistake when they laid people off? Or, were the layoffs too late to save the company?

Good question. They were trying to aggressively grow but put their resources in the wrong places. Then the layoffs started coming as a way to try and cut costs but it was too late. At a minimum they set themselves back 5-6 years (11 year old company) or some smart competition will come in and buy them out while they’re bleeding

That's sad. Executive fumble.

I agree on this, it happened to me as well with ex employer - multiple layoff rounds over the year...

"hundreds or thousands" - I say option B, good chance HR is still drinking NyQuil during the day from the last round. They might miss a few.

I think company who lays off once is more likely to lay off again.

I see no fault in this tbh. I land most jobs after they let go of half of their staff. Sorry if I misspell anything here, I just got done winning a dunk contest followed up by the most handsome man ever contest and I'm sweaty. Anyways, this is spot on advice and anyone who doesn't do this is, frankly, a beta loser.

Also it's literally illegal for lightning to strike twice so really good analogy bro.

Okay but actually this is almost batshit insane enough to actually work.

That’s what I’m here for bud. Provide the perspectives that no one else wants to take.

I may not be the hero the WR wants, but I just might be the hero it deserves
