Meditation, never thought it was for me but here I am

I have never given meditation a chance, closest thing is when my wife would convince me to do yoga with her.

Last week I got the "Balance" app and I think I may be coming around. 5 min a day, and I'm finding it really helps to focus my mind and clear out the junk. I do it right before I do my cold calling for the day and I'm much more upbeat and happy doing my most hated task. Long term it's supposed to really help with focus and memory. And it has a kids section, I have an 8 year old boy with crazy ADHD and he's been using it to slow down his brain and fall asleep at night.

It's free for the first year with no commitment. Ok, thats it for my ad. I swear I don't work for them ;P

oh, and I started it because I was listening to a podcast with Jerry Seinfeld and he said the key to success is espresso and meditation, I already have the crazy caffeine addiction down, so I figured I'm 1/2 way there lol

anyone else out there meditate?

Every morning. Extremely useful to calm down, focus and quiet everything down before the storm.

I pray, which is technically a form of meditation. Not into the new agey meditation stuff. More into the stoic hermit monk kind of prayer/meditation.

Meditation can take several forms. Meditation is bot necessarily sitting in lotus position chanting things. I participate in active meditation while I am running or cycling or doing something else active. For me, the whole point is to work through what I am going through come out the other end a better person.

I do before the start of the day but I donโ€™t use these apps or anything. It helps.

Meditation is more important to the most stressful jobs ,so it's definitely necessary for sales being on top of these jobs!

I think itโ€™s a healthy offset to a natural sales mentality. As much as we try to control outcomes itโ€™s healthy to find a way to let them go, even if just for a bit.

Tried it once or twice but didnโ€™t make it stick like I wanted to. A former colleague that was a top performing rep did swear by it.

Yes, but I'm terrible at it. But I try!

Breathing exercises work, simple as that.

I'll never reach Nirvana though.
