I've been unemployed since October. Really can't afford to take time away from the job search.

Yeah you need to take PTO. Our sales engineering team... Most ended up with having most holiday days remaining when we got to December. Life's too short to be that stressed over work
Played 18 yesterday while on the clock. If remote working and can answer calls or emails, no need to tell anybody where you are at. Just log on chat a few times and check email.
