Next step to SMB in DevOps company or ECS at SF?

Hi fellow savages,

i am looking for advice on moving into a new role. Currently I have 2 years of AE experience in SMB. I was interviewing for a MM role at a DevOps company and an Enterprise Corporate Sales role at SF.

However the DevOps company filled the role for MM but would like to make an offer for SMB.
OTE Salary of the SMB and the ECS role is similar.

The doubts I am having are:
 - SF feels saturated and am worried about career progression possibilities.
- I am in SMB atm so would it not be odd to move into a new company in a SMB role too?

Pros:
- Devops seems like a great space to enter and feels like more career growth opportunity.
- SF is very good name and a new space to be moving into Enterprise sales.

looking for advice on which option would be best to grow my career, thank you all. ❤️

Isn't SFDC going through layoffs?

I thought SF is in a hiring freeze. I’d make sure they have an offer to extend at this time.

With the recent news about SF I'd be wary of going that route..

what are you trying to leave your current role?

Although SFDC is doing layoffs that doesnt mean that all departments are being effected. doing ENT sales at salesforce is a SOLID thing to have on your resume.

but i am always someone that looks to the future.

I would be looking at : where can I make the most money but where gives me the MOST success over the next 5 years.

idk the answer but those are the questions I would be asking my self.

Reading the latest news I would be cautious about SF. It had happened many times that employees were let go few days after they joined.

I would go with DevOps if that’s the only option (peace of mind)

They offer a platform to reduce time to develop product updates.

... that's pretty generic

All I can say is you don't want to compete with major platforms and/or open source in SMB. You better have a great product with highly defendable differentiators.

SFDC Enterprise is pretty good, I would lean that way personally.

lowkey, if it's GItlab for DevOps, look elsewhere.

I prefer to go big as you get pigeon holed into sectors after time. Both are good, but up to you.
