Pivoting every 6 months??

Our startup is pivoting so regularly, we don´t have a clear focused direction because we do too many things at the same time.

Cash is burning fast, I don´t know how long we have but we still haven´t secured a large funding to go long.

Should I start applying for jobs or is it normal to live with the stress?

I would get out of there, if they are pivoting every 6 months they appear to just be grasping at straws and are not allowing a sales cycle to actually generate.

As others have recommended, this is a great time to start applying. It won't hurt to find something better, that's for sure.

Apply - this bear market is just getting started and it's about to get bumpy. The other thing no one ever mentions is that it takes 6 months just to realign everything after a pivot, so this probably means pipeline is absolute shit right now.

apply. They'll be going under in no time if they can't find a strong market fit to start generating revenue and get funding. This isn't the economy where VC's are just throwing money at startups left and right.

Apply, market isn't great right now and it is more likely you don't get big funding than you do

Issue is that I really worked so hard to be a top performer here and I am ATM. I also have so much freedom and own space that other organizations wouldn't give.. Tough call...

Blunt - Start applying. Any company that keeps pivoting every 6 months is screaming that it's failing to find a stable market.

A product can truly thrive only when it has stayed in a market with a strategy for a year or so, studied the pros and cons and now is ready to manipulate the market (in a good way) to its advantage. Your company is not doing the right thing.

welcome to start up world my friend. if you are freaking out then yes leave. but just dont work for another start up.

Many companies start with a product and then try to find who will buy it. this leads to a TON of direction change which is terrible.

BUT

some companies have a market that is READY for their product. this is really good but the way the position it, what it looks like in the future, may change all the time.

so just try to figure out what bucket you are in.
the first one is no good.

I've been there, but the pivot was once every 3-4 months...

Get out, and fast.
