Please help me make the right decision! Negotiating a draw salary today!

Context:

Digital Marketing company in business for 10 years. They do a draw of pretty much any amount I ask for. It is technically set up as "recoverable" but they said if I got fired or I left the company I would not have to pay anything back. You would set up your own LLC and they would pay you through that and do a 1099 at the end of the year. No traditional benefits. Work from Home! Mileage reimbursement for cold calling and client visits. Dual role SDR/AE Make your own schedule as long as you get 3-5 appointments a week set for the AE, which would also be myself. Setting 12-15 appointments a month gets you X amount per month, closes get you bonuses plus 7% rolling commission off of the MRR.

Anything else you would like to know, please ask. Meeting with them this afternoon! Thank you for any and all advice!

Are you in favor of a draw salary that you wouldn't have to pay back?

This post gave me more red flags than when my landscaper installed sprinklers in my backyard.

I'd ask for a $500k salary and quit after 3 months.

Sounds like they're gonna ask you to also start setting appointments for local painters, become a rockstar brand ambassador for an energy drink and we work hard but we play hard here.

find a different job.

down voters are marketing spies
Yeah... either they don't have confidence in their product to pay you, or they are looking for someone to blame when they don't hit their numbers promised to the board etc.

Stay away. Ask to be a real employee with a salary + commish

THIS IS A SETUP. I REPEAT. THIS IS A SETUP. Walk away, there are 700k open sales positions in the US currently and this is NOT the one you want. Take it from someone who has "been there" with a recoverable draw. They will use it as a tool for indentured servitude. Sounds great up front, terrible outcome on the back end. #My2Cents

Good post, a pro tip, stay away from "Commish Farmer" options in polls you do'nt want a good post taken down.
