Pound the phones or relax?

This week I've felt like I haven't had nearly enough to do at work. Maybe 4 hours a day of work at most.

When you have day's like this, what do you do? Pound the phones that much harder to try and set some meetings? Do some other form of prospecting? Take the free time when you can get it and enjoy having it?

This is the first month of our quarter, and I'm already half way to quote. But the past week or so I feel like my usual prospecting methods just haven't been as effective. That's part of the slowdown. But that's a different discussion, just adding it for context.

While it's important to have some down time to recharge, if you are 1/2 to quota and you need pipe, definitely spend at least some of that time prospecting.

And you will always need pipe.  :)

split the difference. 2 hours extra prospecting, 2 hours chill.

Boom!

Also if your methods aren’t working experiment with new ones. -Send videos to people who won’t accept your connect requests -text your prospects -send snail mail -try some new email writing techniques (hint - 3 sentences, no signature, use shorthand) -send free shit, swag boxes/coffee/etc -do some old school office coffee drop-offs if you’re near your prospects & they’re in the office -run a discovery call with leadership in a different department than your target(ex sales if you sell into tech), ask for a referral to your target(I’ve used this in enterprise)

If you're only half way to quota, why would you stop now? I totally feel you that sometimes things just don't feel as effective, but all it takes is one connection to change that

basically I've got enough teed up that I should hit my quota for the quarter by the end of the month. The next 2 months at this point is soaking up those sweet, sweet accelerators.

Definitely always be adding to pipe so you can hit bonuses and accelerators of exceeding quota!

Always pound the phones.

Do you not have accelerators?

Do you now want to fight for a bump next year?

An extra full pipeline will always help you. But if you need a personal recharge day that's fair too.

All of the above. If you need a mental break, do it. If your usual prospecting isn’t as effective, look at it and find areas to improve it. When that’s done, smile and dial.

I’m confused on how you don’t have enough to do? If you’ve run through your account lists go hunt some new ones down

I'm excellent at cold calling and prospecting. A lot of people in my company rely on SDRs/inbounds to fill their pipeline, I don't.
