This deal was one of the longest I can recall ever closing - 7 YEARS in the making. They called back in 2014, but based on their budget (vs. reality) elected to delay a year. The following year, we met again and they increased the scope, delaying the production another year.
In 2016 they were hit with financial hardship due to job loss
In 2017 they were recovering from 2016
In 2018 their was a large storm, and they wanted to (now) involve their insurance company.
By 2019 insurance hadn't settled, and the homeowner went to court.
Last year, they came back having won their case against Allstate, but were too afraid due to covid. Signed a contract, but put it on ice. Finally collected a deposit today and, for good measure signed a new contract. Good grief....I need bourbon
