Ranking the "highs" of sales. Whats #1?

ok so I was thinking about this with a friend, there are obviously a ton of different satisfying moments in sales.

We may think the best is when you get a closed won deal, but is it?

For this im thinking about the instant feeling you get when something happens.

Here are my top 4:

  1. Setting a cold outbound meeting (idk what it is something about it is still thrilling to me)
  2. Closing a deal right before the end of quarter
  3. Closing a deal to hit quota
  4. Getting praise on a company wide call.

what are yours??

1. OCC's get me every-time

2. I was a BDR before this so outbound calls and appts was all I did, BUT when I set 4 or more appts in a day, that feels good. Recently was doing a blitz with the BDR team and scheduled 6 new meetings under 30 calls. all cold calls too.

3. Hitting quota in the first week of the month and having my quarter done by mid second month. Always relieves pressure.

4. Setting a new PR - calls made in a day, appts set in a day, biggest deal, etc.

I had to set appts for copiers. You know how much no one wants to talk about that?! I had to learn to be interesting and that has translated into SaaS very well. Best part about those 6 meetings, 5 held within those following 2 days, I closed 2 of them and and looking to close a 3rd here this next week.

1) Opening my bank account the morning that a large commission check posts
2) Closed account posting on the Boom slack channel (and all the emojis and callouts that follow)
3) Getting a shout out from customer leaders on the post-mortem calls
4) Leaving a building after knowing I have CRUSHED a presentation in-person - the adrenaline rush is out of this fucking world

An old boss would say to me "A customer isn't a customer until they are a repeat customer". I would say the biggest win is when a prospect places their second order. This means that they have confidence in you, your company, and your products.

Oooo ok both good ones! Iโ€™ve worked at companies where they have teams of AEโ€™s that ONLY do this. As soon as itโ€™s a competitive deal with a sexy logo a different team comes in hahha

Much of the same as everyone else. Deal signed, beating a competitor, hitting targets.

Sounds a bit sappy but I genuinely love hearing success stories from customers also after using what I sell and thanking me for my help. The genuine appreciation feels good.
