Our company gives free product to non profits... wasn't gonna let them get away that easy and upsold that b*tch 3 day deal cycle....director comes back with
"I need to see a discount applied off list price. We’re only using this for one application, and it’s not business-critical, so I have to make sure our spend aligns with the business value."
I go...
"Appreciate the feedback. Realistically, what number would we have to get to have it approved on your end?"
He goes..
"I’d like to see a 15% discount across the board, let me know if that’s not possible."
I go...
"Let me take it back internally and see what we can do"...even though I do have authority to approve this without upper mgmt
