Sahil had posted a couple weeks back (this message is clearly belated):

"Funniest thing I see on LinkedIn: people who I know have failed spectacularly, pretending they were successful. Especially some of these sales influencers and community leaders who literally cannot sell or build teams. How much would you pay for my top 5 list of "Pretenders"?"

Anyone that has “Sales coach. Life coach. Coach coach” written is mostly phony and they don’t really do anything worth the appreciations they get on LinkedIn.

Not sure I can name Sahil's top 5, but I've worked with people who are trying to position themselves as "thought leaders" on LI but are floundering spectacularly in their roles.

I've been in this industry long enough to see a lot of their "advice" and know its garbage. Or that even they know its bad advice and say it still for the clicks/likes/comments to drive engagement.

IMO, they all are phony. Why? They are on LI trying to show us they aren't. The real influencers are too busy to be on LI trying to influence people.
