Should I change my tactics during Ramadan?

The population I sell to is occupied by a not insignificant number of people of South Asian and African descent. I know that doesn't make someone Muslim by default, but I am making this generalization bc I'd rather include too many (vs too few) people.

Typically I bring treats, offer team lunches, etc as part of my role. Its expected from my industry. That said, I do not want to be insensitive to someone who is fasting. So, for those who sell to a large enough population who observes Ramadan, do you/how do you adjust for this? Am I over thinking it?

My partner is Muslim and I can tell you acknowledgment definitely goes a long way - because many do not even realize it. You could bring dates, as it is traditional to break your fast in the evenings with dates and a glass of water.

I'm fasting the holy month, it's OK we understand and I do much appreciate your feelings.
However the only thing about Lunch in Ramadan that we call it here breakfast so once the Sunset takes place, just feel free to offer it by then.

I would absolutely take it into account with your tactics. Not to the sense of calling it out "I didn't bring lunch because I thought you'd be fasting" but by providing other things i.e. company swag, notebooks, etc instead of food during Ramadan.

i've run lunch meetings etc and typically will email the group one off to ask if anyone has any food allergies or dietary restrictions. 99% of the time everyone says thank you so much for being considerate I'm all square, and the other 1% are even more shocked that you even asked and you win extra trust points.

Ohhhh I love the idea of something a little fancier! I was thinking about putting together some “care packages” of dates + water and just leaving them in team break rooms for anyone who may want it.

You’re overthinking.

Just ask them.

It doesn’t feel right to just ask every person that looks different from me if they’re Muslim…

You can still gift it for them to consume later

I am assuming that you already know they are Muslim.

The nature of my role doesn’t include any religious discussion, so I do not KNOW anyone’s religion. I’m merely trying to ensure inclusivity for as many religious practices as I can.
