Can’t even explain what the hell he’s asking… he just really wanted to use ‘industrial complex’ to sound intellectual despite the term having zero relevance to the dymanic shared between SDRs and AEs

The industrial complex is a socioeconomic concept wherein businesses become entwined in social or political systems or institutions, creating or bolstering a profit economy from these systems. Such a complex is said to pursue its own financial interests regardless of, and often at the expense of, the best interests of society and individuals. Businesses within an industrial complex may have been created to advance a social or political goal, but mostly profit when the goal is not reached. The industrial complex may profit financially from maintaining socially detrimental or inefficient systems.

in conclusion, you’re a shit sales person and this is nonsense.

I thought this community lifted each other up. Why are you getting so heated over a social post that has validity even though it doesn't make sense? Instead of calling him a shitty Sales Rep, you could teach him the differences and the things that you, that he doesn't. Everyone else is asking for more information to HELP him, while you're tearing him down for asking an oddball question. If this is how you treat people asking for help, I wouldn't want to be one of your clients. :(

He cant even explain the premise of his question despite being asked to do so repeatedly.

If you can’t explain your own premise and don’t even make an effort to try, you’re a bad communicator (bad sales person), devaluing this community and wasting everyone’s time.

I’m happy to help and give feedback when there’s an effort being made. This is not that and why I barely participate here now.

obviously the poll has responses.

You need to elaborate on the question for people to be able to answer it. Notice how over 80% of responses are people with no idea what you're asking?

I google it and the only thing that came up was on tweet and a podcast episode by the same guy, you might need to lay out some more information for us.

For those wondering where to begin, slam a few beers. Go down some rabbit holes on the interwebs. Learn about the SDR/AE journey and how it’s changed, about VC/PE, quotas, financial markets, technology complexity, compensation, Etc. Some people see an overall industrial complex. I’m still piecing it together. bleh

There isn’t one. It’s something to ponder. Idk if anyone who talks about it has laid things out in a digestible manner.

My thinking is that one would have to start at the micro, learn how those things affect the macro, then observe how those changed over time. (Speaking in generalities right now of course.)
