In Q4 of 2019 I built my own list. With good old manual research and google maps I put together a route with a couple of hundred companies / contacts located betweeen NY and FL.
On January 12th 2020 I landed at Charlotte NC and spent over 2 months on the road, on my own. I met some cool people athough I have to confess I missed my wife and kids who were half way around the world. Where possible I'd pull over somewhere and read them a bedtime story via video call, then get back on the road. I have never been so busy for so long in my life,
Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm or 7pm was spent either on the road, in meetings, or physically showing up at offices / premises to try and find relevant contacts. I'd try to be at a hotel by around 7pm where I would put all of the contact info and meeting notes into the CRM, and add the contacts to my phone.
I also managed to get in at least 45 minutes in the gym in every single hotel at least 5 days a week and weekends were when I went out.
Covid hit & was devastating for business - it absolutely killed my pipeline in March 2020. However, this trip that no-one else in the company would have taken is now bearing its fruits.
With this deal, the trip in 2020 has now yielded over $1 Million in revenue so I'm pretty happy with that.
In March 2023 I will be hitting California :)
