Thread For Best Food Spots In Your City

With vaccines rolling out and the world opening back up I'm planning on doing some traveling soon. I'm a big believer that the best food in any city can be found in the hole-in-the-wall spots so I wanted to create a thread and see where my fellow savages recommend grabbing a delicious meal.


I'm from Jacksonville Florida and a great hole-in-the-wall spot is Hightide Burrito near the san marco area or Corner Taco in 5 points.


I now live in Cambridge Mass and recommend Harvard Market for a delicious and cheap sandwich. Also Sugar and Spice Thai near porter square is delicious if you like thai food.

Cambridge is full of so many good spots. All Star Sandwich Bar is a good spot. Lone Star Taco Bar. 2nd Street Cafe for breakfast.

The Cali burrito was a staple of my diet when I lived in San Diego. Pretty disappointing how much worse Mexican food is just 2 hours north of SD in Los Angeles.ย

If you live in or near a major city, I highly recommend following Eater. I have yet be disappointed by any of their recommendations. Also, Michelin's Bib Gourmand rating is fantastic - its not a place trying to get stars but also a place that cares about the food they are putting on the menu and they almost always have an excellent chef at the helm and a good drink program to compliment it.ย

NYC has too many great spots but hill country chicken or bbq. Melt shops anywhere, chick fil a is other worldly, and dig inn.ย

Hi. Iโ€™m in NYC. Thereโ€™s something amazeballs on every corner. You want authentic Russian food served by midgets in drag? We got you. Better pizza than Italy? Obviously. And the REAL Chinatown/Koreatown is in Flushing, Queens. Also, there was a โ€œpop up punk showโ€ yesterday afternoon on the LES on the sidewalk in front of The Cast. It was fucking awesome. People moshing and dancing on the street - Iโ€™ve heard about metal bands doing this too. Since the pandemic, this city has been extra awesome. All the tourists, โ€œinfluencersโ€, trust fund brats and bullshit moved to Florida or whatever. The hardcore nyc-for-lifers are still here, still badass, and not sorry that the extra fluff is gone. It may be dirty, but we like it that way ๐Ÿค˜
