Tier 1 or 2 Sales Executive Position @ Crossover/CloudFix

Hey all,

I recently stumbled upon remote working opportunities through a 3rd party recruiter called "Crossover". Apparently they work with several companies hiring fully remote sales people for an independent contractor sales gig. I generally wouldn't be down with it BUT they boast paying some positions as high as $400/hr (About $800k per year).

Has anyone went through this process or heard of this company before? Just curious if it is worth the time to interview for.

Thanks!

I've seen these posts around. Pretty sure I got an LI email about this one.
I don't trust them. But I wouldn't mind clearing $800K USD

Haha right? I guess no harm in interviewing, but am very skeptical off the bat.

They appear to have a bunch of online hurdles to jump through first.

I have completed the first two IQ-type assessments but need to do their "real work" assessments. Which in total I estimate to be around 3 hours of work. I need to wait until I have enough solid time to complete this.
In short, yes they are a pain.

I had previously worked for Crossover - they make you do a glorified IQ test to qualify which is pretty easy, but will track your work with productivity software that takes screenshots. Would personally not recommend.

Thanks for the input! I’ve read about the tracking software. That seems lame.
Did they make good on what they said they would pay? Did you have tough quotas? How was the product fit and the customers you worked with?

If you don’t want to get into not a big deal. Just curious. Thanks again!

They did make good on what they said they would pay which is why I personally took a role with them. I didn't specifically work with CloudFix, just another Crossover company so not sure on that segment. I was a top performer but felt that it wasn't a place to build out a long-term career, and the invasiveness of the tracking software was pretty poor. Take it if you need some short-term gains but if you had another great opportunity, I would advise you to go with that instead.

This place is a scam, they legit have to put "We're not a scam" on their website.

Mixed feelings. They are not a scam but have very rigorous pre-screening processes. After passing their IQ and English tests, most jobs still require written and video assignments such as solving sales strategy case studies and pitches. The platform suggests that it will each take approximately one hour to complete. However, the first and only assignment I finished took me at least 2.5 hours if I wanted to do it properly and with enough detail. I was not invited to interview and haven't tried applying again.

Most of their base salaries and OTE are above the industry average. Yet several reviewers agree their level of micromanagement is not worth the stress. I'd say it is up to you and your preferred work style. Best of luck if you decide to apply!

Thanks for the reply Karina! I appreciate your input. I am definitely not a fan of micromanagement. I think if they hire you to do the job they should trust you to do it, if you don't perform they can let you go. Haven't scheduled an interview yet but will keep everyone posted on that progress. With an $800k OTE it is enough to pique my interest in at least interviewing. I am happy with my current role but again money talks in sales.

I took the IQ test and passed it. They said only 5% of takers pass it not to flex on y'all. Then they want you to take an English proficiency test. I was like sweet easy peasy. The end of the English test was harder than the IQ test. They wanted you to repeat back like 60 second monologues that you just heard verbatim which i couldn't fucking do. So passed IQ and failed English lmao

Same thing happened to me. This was 3+ years ago. I haven't bothered with them since.

Have to say that it seems sketchy. Also - I’m wondering how they can say an AE job, for which they strictly track your activity, could be considered an independent contractor. If they are offering you the equipment, collateral, and are requiring you to track calls/meetings/notes, etc. that is material control and should be a salaried employee job.

Did you end up moving forward with the interview? If so, you mind sharing your experience?

They did not move forward with me unfortunately! I made it to the final stage prior to an actual interview. Which is their “evangelization” demonstration. I think maybe I didn’t pick a topic that was interesting enough and my presentation was 6 min instead of 5. So that may have been what disqualified me. I did really well on the sales process/research demonstration. Overall a tough experience and worth a shot for $800k. Although I did not like that there was not much feedback on the application process.
