What are some good certifications to get a job as an SDR?

I am a recent college graduate with in-ground pool sales experience. I have over 6 years of experience in sales, however I'm looking for something to help me break into the tech industry. What certifications would be best to help get a job as an SDR? CRM certifications? Are certifications even necessary or waste of time?

You don't need anything aside from a solid work ethic and actual desire to be there. SDR is an entry level position and they will train you on their tech stack/product/sales process.

Previous sales experience will be a plus even though it's not in SaaS.

Good luck!

Oh boy
Your college degree and your sales experience is all you'll need. Everything else is soft skills

Don't pay for anything.

Check out the resources others suggested.

Also watch some videos on SalesForce or Hubspot so you're familiar with CRM basics.

There is a free negotiation course through Coursera/Yale. Just Google "Introduction to Negotiation: A Strategic Playbook for Becoming a Principled and Persuasive Negotiator".

Not all of it is directly applicable of course, but it looks great on a resume and has a lot of super relevant content you can carry with you through your sales journey!

Pay me $10k and I’ll make sure you get what you need:
- the ability to grind through 100s of calls a day
- the ability to set up email cadences
- the ability to smile and hit the phone after you get rejected (by the one person who picked up in your last 50 dials)
Oops🙊 just gave away all the secrets. Honestly, I’d be hard pressed to believe any companies give a shit about SDR certs, they just want a relentless and hungry attitude, and someone who will drink the company cool-aid. You got this

You technically don't need one but there are things that can help. Lots of resources on Linkedin, watch Youtube videos, etc.

Check out the Academy section here, a new article was just posted today actually.

There's free resources like Vendition's Bootcamp or Aspireship (free if you finish it within a month and if you pass the exam at the end, they'll help you find a job with a dope company).

Good luck!

Do you think the LinkedIn Premium skill assessments would be worth taking?

Your time is better spent honing your interview skills and getting applications out there.

You don't need to pay for ANYTHING. Anything that asks you to pay is likely a scam.

You don't need LI Premium - don't pay for it. Assessments would be a waste of your time there as I don't think there's any sales specific. There might be some helpful linkedin learning courses but don't pay for them, take advantage of the free ones if you want when they offer them.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
There are some professional training courses which can help, but they are costly. I would recommend instead talking about being a life-long learner. Rattle off some sales methodologies and popular sales books. That should cover things.
