Why did you leave your job?

I saw this posted by a "LI Influencer" today and I couldn't help but stop for a few seconds and think about why I am about to leave my current job. I think I have hit about 8 out of 10 of these on the list. It begs the question though, has anyone found a company that does not do any of these things? It seems like we accept a lot of this because "that's just sales."

I know this influencer you speak of.
Yes, I’d say some of it is “just sales.” However, I see companies trying to do things better and they’re fixing a lot of these things.
Perfection isn’t out there, you most likely won’t find a company who’s mastered all of these. If so, jump on that opp because it’s rare. But I believe there are companies that don’t do 7/10 of these things and are worth working for. If you like and care about the product.

Having just accepted a new role, a combination of 1, 2 and 6. The opportunity for advancement was there but the team above mine is universally regarded as a black hole of death, so it wasn’t really an option. Feedback about how this team needs to be restructured has been ignored for years. My company has a bad reputation for paying below market rate especially for internal promotions and just jacked quotas across the board massively, so when a company came along offering well above market where literally every AE hit a 2021 quota that is staying more or less flat in 2022, I took it.

My department was dissolved and then undissolved after I left ... offering $15k less than what I had for a base.

1 and 6 are hand in hand and 8 was the exact reason I left my last company.

I'm pretty sure I have left because off all of these reasons before, but the most interesting would probably be because I was getting stalked by a former coworker who became a Hell's Angel and he was my then boss' cousin. Strange times.

#1 is why I just left my last job.  I don't care too much about the rest, but they implemented a new comp plan in early '21 which messed with my residual commissions.  **Bye Felicia**

Fair enough.  You'll swing back around though to "just give me the money" soon enough... lol

Several of these are why I left my last company. 1 year in on my new one, and am not currently checking any of those boxes.

That OTE seems just ok for that quota, but it depends on your industry. Do you feel your quota is achievable or are you really grinding it out and stretching to get there every year?
