WTF do I do?

Hey! So I recently came back from Paternity leave where i was gone for 2 months and am back on pace to hit over my target again. BUT I another company who is in a completely unrelated market reached out to request that I come sell for them for 10 days at an event. The last time I did this I made bank, but am not sure how to go about getting the time off. (my company did just switch to an unlimited PTO policy)

Any advice would be great, last time i did this I made 40% of my salary in the 10 days.

But then the clones would need to go open a pizza shop on the beach once he needs to go back to work

the last clone melted mid-use, so they aren't as reliable as people make them out to be

Unfortunately they are fragile; single use clones are just the beginning.

In reality, you may run the risk of losing your job if they feel as though you're never there.  But - if the risk is worth you taking the time, request it and go.   Personal time is a vague enough reason, particularly if you are back on pace and can maintain their expectations.

Why not go work for them full time?

we are working out something long term, but for now there isn't a position.  If they did these gigs 4 times a year, i would only work for them.... and take the other 325 days of the year off

That DOES sound lucrative.

Do you think that you’re team would notice if you suddenly shrank to around 4ft tall? I have access to multiple vertically challenged associates who offer stand in services/double services.

Depends if you have anything in your work agreement for moonlighting (selling for other companies while employed by current even unrelated products). If not take the PTO and say i won a free trip or if married my spouse did and take the time off, or hell be honest and say im going to xyz show to help out a friend who owns a company in case someone happens to see you there in social media world (ferris buehller lol). Just be careful that you "can" sell something else

After evaluating all of the feedback from the War Room, I have boiled down your best two options to the following:
- Clone Yourself
or
- "Catch Covid"

Do with this what you will.

2 options.

1.) put in the PTO request and it’s likely there no questions asked.

2.) fake a sickness. Either child’s or your wives.
