3rd interview tomorrow - What to expect? TL:DR - AE :D

Savages!! It is time I promote from SDR to AE (hopefully)


I tried the search bar but couldn't find anything, just rants.


I am halfway through the interview process (tomorrow is the 3rd) at a 2600-employee, 1B rev org. I have only worked with start-ups, with a max of $15M funding.


What can I expect for a 3rd interview with management? I have never gone past 2 interviews!


If I pass the three (45 minutes each), the 4th and final is with the VP of sales.


This is a huge deal for me since I have been an SDR for just over 2 years hoping to become an AE

Did you hunt Glassdoor for interview questions? Have you had the situational drill? The tell me about a time when… thing? Likely more of those are coming. Otherwise, you just be your authentically hungry and driven-ass self.

I never knew Glassdoor provided that - thank you!!! All the interviews I have had are bare bones., 1-2 tops - The tell me about a time when thing came up for the first time during my 2nd interview. The interviews I have done before were pretty straight forward tbh

Did you go through the demo / assignment round with them? If so - the third round would be again a discussion around your mindset, a couple of scenarios thrown at you and seeing how you can handle any of that.
That's my best guess. You can do a quick Google search (since it's a big company), and see what other experiences have been.

Actually no we haven't done a demo/assignment round. Do you mean demo like a mock call for taking a meeting and doing a demo?

If you know your interviewer creep their history, work on some pointed questions about their own trajectory either at that org or others and tie it to your own long term goals.

Ask about attainment, territory, and commission structure. Ask serious questions that show you understand the role and ready for the switch.
I've seen this many times, dont think because you have two years as an SDR your entitled to the role - there are probably applicants with real closing experience you need to beat.

Ask your recruiter what to expect from this interview. If they want to get you hired (and get themselves paid for that), then they should have some insights for you.

People love talking about themselves so ask about his journey in sales & ask a thoughtful question like: If he/she could give their younger selves advice, what would that be?
I would keep 2-3 of these type of questions in your back pocket to ask your leaders at any time, esp if you bump into them at a company offsite.
