Advice needed

Hello my fellow Warriors,

My last position was a startup that started out ok, but then after 8 months was barely surviving. They kept switching my duties..and I was ultimately connecting them with investors (in my network). Then they laid me off. So there are no metrics etc.

Anyway I took off more time because one of my parents fell ill.

After 1.5 years, I'm looking for my new role in sales. Any advice on how to deal with the metrics issue and what type of barriers of entry will I be dealing with?

This is really fucked. I didn’t notice this til now. Closer was a typo when I signed up. Handle was supposed to be Old Closet. Can I get some assistance?

I’ve been old hold forever.

1.5 years out, not sure that anyone will even care about the metrics to be honest. what was the role at the last company?

What role are you going to be looking for, and do you have experience in addition to your last role?

Key questions. If you can discuss some solid, quantifiable metrics from previous roles and add in approach, methodology etc. from the last role you should be in pretty good shape.

Getting creative. Perhaps you adjust how you present what your duties were and the success you had in the introductions made.
X number of meetings with investors leading to...

If there is no solid metric perhaps you can mention your methods, did you cold call, or utilize LinkedIn or other tools?

Probably not a bad idea to search the sales gpt function on bravado to see other cases and advice others have contributed before.

Sorry to hear about this, you are not alone and you will find the next opportunity.

I know I have experience from nonsales jobs that matter to employers as well. You can look back on previous roles and explain how those activities could contribute to sales roles today.

The time off due to your parents being ill shouldn’t be a problem - be a human and explain what happened. Any company worth working for will understand. As far as the metrics go, it’s highly contextual based what role you’re looking for. But be transparent about how it was a revolving door for your duties

The fact that you had to adapt, overcome and adjust to the many spontaneous changes withing your company says volumes about your character. Your willingness to assist and connect investors, shows how far your willing to help a company. Don't forget to add those experiences when you interview for a new position. It's too bad your last employer couldn't see that, hopefully your new one will. All the best.
