Advice needed! What would you do?

Hey anon savages,

I am in a quandary.. I signed with my company on the basis that I would be made fully employed at some stage.. I am now technically a self employed contractor and its due to various reasons I said I absolutely had to be employed.

Fast forward to the time when I asked for it to happen, I was met with 'its too expensive, we will review in 2-3 months'

Now I cant accept that, so I had to reluctantly start looking for a role elsewhere.

I have a 2nd meet ith a small startup in my niche sector, that is a friend of a friend and they seem like they need me big time.. It would be a fully employed role but the trouble is its a tiny company of 5 staff and I would be the whole sales team...

I have spent almost a year working my tits off with my company and we are also just on the cusp of the 'final product' which would alleviate all the shit we had lost deals to before...

But the problem remains, if I stay, I have no guarantee of becoming employed and then this opportunity I am considering will vanish.

Its a very difficult situation but I find my self between a rock and hard place on what to do..

What would you do? I think I have already decided to jump ship as the relationship has been ruined by the agreement we made being thrown in the trash..

Oh and the small company would pay me more in salary but the deals and pipeline will take time to build up obviously

Thanks in advance folks, look forward to your remarks ๐Ÿ™

Idk man fully employed head of sales or being a self employed contractor where the goal posts keep moving. Kinda seems like a no brainer imo but Iโ€™m a little SDR in this big pond

They didnโ€™t keep a crucial promise. No reason. To think theyโ€™d keep others.

There are more roles out there, if working for a small start up isnt something you are interested, I would look for other options

Itโ€™s difficult to say being you because risk is everywhere. How long have you been working here (sorry if I missed that in your post)? When you say some stage, did they give any timeline in writing? Do you see them needing you long term?

Thanks dude, I agree.. big or small companies there is risk!
I've been there around 10 months, they said 'review in 2-3 months, maybe we will be in a better position' over slack lol
I think they would like me to be there long term, as I have brought more deals in than any other rep in their history and the biggest deals too ... So I was even more pissed off that they fucked me like this tbh..

What's the issue? They haven't kept up their end of the deal. There are no guarantees in life. Take care of you.
