Teeny bit of background - I worked full time in sales and attended college full time. I am the first of my family to graduate with a degree. Two weeks after I graduated I landed my first pharmaceutical sales job.

I've been in MANY industries, led various verticals, protested a couple of RFPs (and won), survived toxic work environments, witnessed buyouts, experienced layoffs, and I AM STILL HERE THRIVING.

If I could leave you with a juicy morsel it would be to keep your mind open, embrace shit as it's thrown at you, and learn new things each day. Ego gets you nowhere, so try your best to lead with kindness. And dark sarcastic humor. That's also my jam.

Like I said to HVAC it's important to surround yourself with folks that want to see you win. It can help build confidence.
Know your why. What value do you bring? If it doesn't align with your goals then tweak it. Stay out of gossip and workplace drama. Those folks are jealous and want to see you fail.

I remember CLEARLY stating I never wanted to be in sales. I wanted to be in public relations. Then one day, close to graduation, I saw a sharp dressed pharma rep in a fitted suit and a shiny car. I approached her in the parking lot and started up a chat. I even met her boss as he was riding along with her that day.

Don't ever say you will NEVER do something. The universe will make sure that you do. Wicked sense of humor I guess 😉

Yes the money is a factor. Any sales rep that says otherwise is full of garbage. Having a strong support team, the ability to TRULY work remotely, and the fact that I'm trusted to do my job without being micromanaged is why I have stayed.

I do not have a favorite site. I do a cross between Indeed and LinkedIn. If I'm really interested then I will reach out to a manager directly. Also be open to recruiters. Some do like to make money and help folks out.

I've been through several. I learned quite a bit about private equity firms and how they operate. If you find yourself in this predicament, I advise you to keep your head down, avoid gossip, and go on with your business as usual. I've seen too many folks stand out when they didn't need to and be fired for it.

Training was intense and led by physicians. Learning the science was badass. Once you get in the field you quickly realize you need to adapt into his type of character. Honey I can turn on the charm in an instant 😉
