Anyone sell to Switzerland / Ireland?

I've heard from some others that prospects in different countries (namely Aus, APAC) have different attitudes towards cold outreach, follow-ups, and the sales process in general.

Has anyone experienced this with the Swiss or Irish?

As of now plan is to go business as usual, but curious about any nuances I should be aware of.

No marketing, mayo isn't an MQL
Ireland like the UK tend to not enjoy being sold to, its not like the US where there's a grudging acknowledgement about it.

For both Ireland and Switzerland, GDPR should be followed, so long as you're using a compliant data solution you should be fine for the most part.

I'd not worry to much about GDPR as long as you are selling on a B2B basis as there is and should always be a "legitimate interest" in your product and service which overcomes the GDPR situation.

As for selling, I'd take a business as usual approach however if your deal size warrants it I'd do something to go above and beyond such as sending a gift or a sample or something ahead of calling to give the person a reason to talk to you

I see many mentioned GDPR here. it's not quite a challenge as you may think.. you get used to it, and it makes perfect sense.
and as to the EU market, I find the majority of them are really kind, helpful and easy to talk to.

Not sure where you are from, but Ireland is EU. For cold outreach, you need to bare GDPR in mind. (Using only public available phone numbers and mailadresses.)

GDPR regulation is a challenge there. Do you guys focus only on O/B outreach?

If you’re not selling to hipster startups <20 people: Hold the fun chitchat and gifs for the Swiss market - stick to personalised, clear & value based outreach and get used to „how did you get this number?“

I sell to Ireland. Nothing too different to the UK or EU in general, but don’t try to use sleazy sales tactics or push them too much. The general US approach won’t work, oh and expect things to move much slooooower. No one cares about GDPR, the Irish are very nice people actually.

Being in the UK, Ireland was my favourite market to sell into. They hate pitches and scripted shit. Go in straight with the truth and use humour and you'll go a long way. Email wise, keep it short and snappy.

They are a delightful bunch but if you push they'll put the phone down. Ireland isn't yet an eCommerce market so selling into there and getting your foot in will work wonders.

Don't know about Swiss, but Ireland people aren't too happy receiving random calls or being sold to. In saying that, if you're a charmer, you can get away with it. And whatever you do, don't mix anything Ireland related with the UK! That will likely offend.
