Anyone work in aerospace?

I've decided that I want to work in the aerospace industry after my current company sells. I've always had a fascination with the industry and pretty much everything about space. Anyone have any insights or stories?

What part of aerospace are we talking about? 

I've sold to aerospace/defence a fair amount. 

We talking Gulfstream bougie jets, Lockhead accidental blue on blue Martin or Virgin not so Galactic?

Fair number of space related startups that are pretty fucking cool. 

The big space Bois - Virgin Not So Galactic and Blue that's not my Original Wife are primarily focused on selling to high net worth individuals atm so you need that little black book.

Idk but Ive always thought it would be sick to sell for Boeing (or Airbus). I know nothing about their sales motion or org but it would be fucking sick to say I just sold 200 777s to United and it was worth $5 billion.

My housemates work for rocketlabs as engineers, if you're not an engineer, they would recommend it. But elsewise aerospace is a very capital intensive, risky heavy endeavour. Launching things into space isn't cheap, especially if you're looking at doing things like landing rockets again, a lot of engineers are really pushed in that industry but they're sold on the concept of glory i've heard.

I've sold tech TO aerospace and it's a bit of a nightmare- super dated, slow-moving, absurd compliance, and they're all in bed with Microsoft.  

That being said, I've sourced some cool opps with Vision AI for QA in aerospace manufacturing recently. 

Seems like there are a lot of (outer)space startups in CA getting funding right now, now THAT would be cool
