Balancing Interviewing vs. Current Job

Hey y'all and happy 4th.

I've been interviewing while working a demanding and competitive AE job at a Series A startup. I'm curious, how do you balance the demands of hitting quota and performing at a high level at your current job while still pursuing new opportunities?

I did horrible job balancing this at my old gig, and it has been a bit easier with WFH. However, I did an absolutely awful job managing this in my last transition. It was extremely obvious towards the end of time there that I one foot out the door. Would love some insight on how to better approach this in my current process.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Monday am interviews, late in the day interviews (5:30-6:30pm), and Friday afternoons. In particular, knocking out some of the busy work for Monday on Sunday night and doing the same for Friday on Thursday night should give you some freedom.

Sometimes the priority is the new job. I think that's okay. Just make sure the top priorities in your current job are still there - don't miss a meeting for your top deal or bail on team forecast.

Why was it obvious? To address the problem we must uncover the route of all evil! Only then can we solve it.Β
