Best Pen

Hii! I am looking for a new type of pen to use daily at work. I am old school and still enjoy taking notes on my notepad. lately I keep having pens break and run out of ink way too soon... my guess is I'm using a bad brand. Thanks in advance :)

Yeah my pen collection is a smattering of previous orgs and trade show swag collection. I believe it’s the natural way to acquire pens.

The amount of pens that I’ve lost, I shouldn’t be answering this.

TUL pens are the best pen for the price. Mont Blanc pens are the best pens period.

I use waterman. Had it for 20 yrs and it’s still going strong! The shear amount of millions that have been signed by that pen are cool to think back on!

Can’t go wrong with a pilot g2 as stated before. I prefer .5 over .7 since my handwriting is sloppy.

For pens available in big box stores or Amazon I’d recommend pilot g2 (gel), sharpie (gel), uniball jetstream (gel/rollerball hybrid), pentel energel, pilot precise (liquid ink)

In general a gel or liquid ink pen will be more reliable than a rollerball (think classic bic or trade show giveaway)

All of those are extremely reliable won’t skip while writing or dry up too soon into use.

If you want to get exotic, there is a whole world of Japanese pens that are very cool.
Pilot hi tec c, pilot juice, uni ball signo (not the 207 available in us which is trash), and a ton of other options. Jet pens is a good site if you’re interested in expanding your stationery world

Fountain pens I find to be impractical on a day to day basis but some people like them. Good starting options are kaweco sport and many safari.

I used to run a stationary review blog and my “fun”party trick is identifying the pen people are using without seeing the logo.

In conclusion pilot, pentel, and sharpie all have good offerings across the brand and tend to be a solid buy regardless of which pen you get.

Now if you want to talk notebooks we can get real crazy…

MUJI has the best pens and stationary items!! They also have refillable ink so you can just buy one pen and then just keep getting the individual refills :)

My ride or die is the "smooth gel ballpoint pen knock type 0.5" - you can get a 0.38 if you like thinner

I've always preferred Parker or Schaefer pens. Have a high end feel that doesn't break the bank. Got one as a gift with 24k gold accents, feel like a real baller

As others said, for cheap: Pilot G2. I really like Sharpie S Gel Pen Stylo and Ultra Fine tips.

Luxury: Montblanc
