"Sell me this pen" is a trap.  Any candidate that actually tries to sell the pen gets disqualified.  Ask questions about pens.  Keep asking.  Don't stop.

---------------super corny, but still can separate wheat from the chaff. Sales people know it's all about qualifying and quality of the sale. Reg joe off the street with a nice resume, might not know it's about questions and not about closing.
