BDR story but still unique for me. Was selling marketing software and was trying to find a unique vertical to target for the software. Found out that restricted sites ( sites with weapons and vape), were rarely called especially firearms. Found a list of a convention for them and manage to call 80% of the companies with sites that sold them.
After all the demos I could get went down, ended up having 10% of the sales that month for the whole company come off my demos. As a fairly new BDR, I rode that high for a while.

Here’s mine: after a few months in a new role my SVP called me into a room and demoted me (cutting my OTE by 20k) and cited me being at 90% of ramp as to why. just as we we’re about to finish the meeting a bluesky deal signed a contract and put me at 200% of ramp.... it was the funniest awkard moment for him.... and i didnt get demoted 🤣
