Burnout?

seems like I keep being told I need to take a long vacation or something.

went to soain for 2 weeks and now back into the mix. I like the job, hate being in the office.

any recomendations for someone in their late 20s in sales?

or am I just the idiot that cannot read the room, and everyone feels like I do but just keeps to themselves.

You like the job, but hate being at the job. You’ve got to parse this and understand it before you make a move. Are you short fused? Do people find you annoying? Is that new? Burnout is a real thing, but you may just hate what you do every day.

Also, maybe you're not being challenged enough or need a bit more structure or mentoring. Are you doom scrolling, continuously refreshing this site or watching the clock?
Burnout is real but also you may have just had a great time in Spain and it's always hard to come back into an office/prison cubicle after being free and abroad.

Astute. Travel opens the dome. And I used to feel much more free when I was a broad.

You were a broad?
Whoa.
This ... actually answers a lot of questions.

I agree with this. Saw the cost of living compared to San Fransisco.

Plus I dont like the office mates so much. But I tell myself its a job.

I live in the area. Travel is essential for me; I love to get out and see what else is out there. But then I come back and realize I’ve got it good too. But maybe you do need a change of pace.

In your previous post, you were talking about all the money you’ve made. Maybe chasing all those investments and all those $$ is what your colleagues are seeing. Did you just go on a deserved vacation and realize there’s more when you slowed down a little?

This is a very real possibility. Looks like there are potentially some serious contradictions in your statements and you need to get introspective.

I dont like the people much. Maybe because its a sales office and I feel like we are all in competition.

I think I may not like being in the office with the people.

Just want to sell, preferably in another country on the beach haha

THIS IS THE WAY (and rock w/e music makes you happy that day while doing it). Plus you can just put headset on and walk around outside and do calls or if you have a laptop versus a tower (i hope for your sake they don't have you tied to a tower PC) go somewhere else on the property every now and then for a change of scenery and vibes.

I have a desktop, standing desk, with a boiler room type of environment.

Ok so I've been there as well, go the music/headphones route. If its a headset with mic even better. Have a teams recording up alt tabbed and if someone is walking by (have mirrors everywhere so you can't be snuck up on) just bring it up and start saying some boiler plate comments like, "Yeah I can see that being a problem - or lets circle back etc" and people will think you're on an active call.

Do you actually believe in what you sell? That's important. You can only sell something you personally don't believe in for so long before you burnout or just leave.

I know that I have to find some aspect of what I sell in order to (1) relate to my buyer, and (2) stick with things. No matter how much something pays, if you don't believe in it at some level, eventually it will show.

I sell servers and their components.

I feel more like a trader than a seller, as these items are traded amongst companies.

Agree with oldcloser. Why are keep being told that? Are you expressing it very often or you look worn out? No matter how much you love your job, people will perceive you based on what they see so you got to figure out how to correct it.

Do one activity daily that brings you joy. Gym. Games. Family time. Just make sure you have fun.
Ya after going to another country and I can only imagine what you were doing there, you will be bored coming back to work. That’s life bud. Almost nobody loves sitting in a chair working for others.

Thats what I am saying, its mostly sitting in the chair with other people that dont want to be there either.

I have worked in sales for the past 18 years and have experienced burnout a couple of times.
The right mix for me is to spend 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Have you figured out what causes your burnout? It could be many things - poor planning, overwhelming stress to meet your goals, a poorly structured pipeline - there can be a multitude of reasons for this, as you mentioned.
