I am so incredibly proud of myself, but with all of the recent layoffs don't feel I should be celebrating (out loud)... but I had to share with someone.
In 2018 I was a recently divorced SAHM. I moved us into my parents house and started working odd jobs trying to support my children.
I remember feeling so lost, so defeated... I was crying on the phone to my sister (who now works for Anaconda) and she gave me the best advice of my life...
"If you want to get on your own two feet, get into software sales... that's where the money is."
So I got myself into a startup that year... and ever since my career has continued to progess. Start up --> Unicorn --> Corporate
4 years later... I just looked at my last check for 2022 and I made over SIX FIGURES for the first time in my life.
I am supporting my children with no government assistance, and no child support (not for the lack of an order, just the lack of him following it). 4 years ago this didn't seem possible.
I am DAMN proud of myself. 🥳
