Company I applied to ended up in my pipeline with my current manager riding along.

When I am frustrated with work I smoke some pot and apply to a couple of jobs. I have made a shortlist of companies I would consider leaving a pretty Kush gig for. Well, last night, feeling fed up and I decided to apply to a company on my list. I yeeted the app into the void. Well, this morning a channel partner referred them to us for services. My current boss is doing ride-along since the channel is a new vertical for us and we are all trying to learn how to close it. I am freaking out because like, what if they say "hey didn't you apply here the other day". Am I paranoid?

What should I do?

I doubt they will bring it up Infront of your boss, this is the best opportunity to show them how professional you are and what kind of service you provide! If anything, this is a blessing! own it, you've got this!

No marketing, mayo isn't an MQL
Sounds like you need to reduce the amount of weed my man, you're being paranoid for no reason.

1. Doubt they'll even put two and two together.
2. They wouldn't bring it up.

It doesn’t matter. . I selected own it and be a savage. . It WON’T come up. But if it does, fucking own it. Make no apologies. An application doesn’t put you in the wrong. . Unless the premise is that you’re not good at what you do now, when a good employee wants to move on, the onus/fault always lies with the employer. Black and white. They no longer fit your idea of “great” and that’s not a bad thing. You have nothing to apologize for. Don’t be a jerk about it, but own it.

Hahahah great wordplay - 'Kush gig'

That's a wild coincidence, but the likelihood it'll be brought up seems slim.

Hopefully your name isn't 'Haywood Jablome' or something that really sticks out in people's minds and potentially result in something being blurted out

I'm not your mother. Of course. But, i'd say...don't smoke pot and apply for jobs.

I'm not an angel, I apply for jobs after a few drinks...but what you are asking is and the reason why you are asking this is anxiety. Apply for jobs in a sober state, but prior to that consider your current job sober as well man.

No need to worry. They will never bring it up. Would be too unprofessional. Be prepared for the meeting, if you are called for an interview later on you could use their case to show your excellence. This could be really good for you.

Walk in like you own the place, and nobody will question you. If it's a thing, maybe reach out to the people you applied to separately and tell them to keep it real?

Just started a new job but offered an interview at a higher paying one

I was hired at a really good start up about 4 months ago for a SDR role that I was told I wouldn’t be in for very long. They’re gonna go public in the next year, but Zoom Info reached out to me about an Account exec position. Now I’m wondering if I should take the guaranteed route to AE or let my shares vest and get to AE at the place that took me. Usually I wouldn’t consider jumping so quickly, but AE is AE.
