Full agree. It’s wild how all sales got lumped into the worst of us. Granted it’s what a lot of consumers are used to (used car sales people, pushy gym sales, etc) but when you take that to the business world it makes me think less of someone.

Also any sales leader I’ve had that wanted to hide or diminish our titles or obfuscate the fact that we’re in sales is a shit bag and should be avoided at all cost. If they don’t take the profession seriously why should you follow them?

Amen!

We've all been around bad sales people who put up big numbers. They're not particularly good at their job, buyers don't necessarily like or want to work with them, but they were lucky enough to be the person taking that up on the lot or getting the opp assigned.

The post makes you realize the goal here isn't to be good, we've got to focus on being elite.
