Do you personally continue to build your brand on Linkedin, how, and why? - SADNESS

Building a personal brand on LI helped me land jobs quicker than I could sneeze. but once you have one, besides job security. What's the value of it? I absolutely abhor smashing my enter button and speaking all fucking political yet 'honest'. Thats why most of us are here.

My question is if you personally continue to build your brand on linkedin, how, and why?

When I do do it I usually:

  1. shitpost - random shit about my habits/life/background
  2. valuepost - how to not be a shittySDR/manager
  3. sobpost - a personal intimate story about where I came from, what I learned, and encouragment to the rest

I try to keep it real asf. I want to go deeper with my backstory & who I am, but then again who the fuck cares? IDK. those sobposts get me the most engagement, the value posts get great convos, and the shitposts show my personality too.

Balancing professional/personal/branding?

Help a kid out,

Much love,

That kid

I think it's important but I tend to only stick to one of the 3 things. My brand is just being a sarcastic ass hole. That's it. I don't have any value to offer. I stick to what I'm good at and people respect it (I think).

It's just too much engagement with fake social media. It's not good for my brain.

i really hate calling it a personal brand but I do still post on Linked In. some side hustle stuff that im passionate about, as well as actual work stuff.

i am in a pretty small market so it pays to get to know ppl even if you have to dick around commenting on their posts and shit.

I post things relevant to what I sell and events I attend. I also have liked to any writing I’ve done or webinars I have been on. I think it’s helpful.

Generally from events, yes.

I’ve posted my strategy before on that but it’s posting using the hashtags attendees are using, following and searching them and doing outreach to targets that hit that profile. “I noticed you’ll be at widgetFEST 22. I will too; and I f*cking love widgets. Let’s meet.”

it’s got a pretty high hit rate in my experience.

I’m considering creating more content but I want it to be quality content. Not some shitty feel good stuff that everyone is peddling now just to get followers.

So my answer is yes, 2 reason.

- living/active resume. I don’t want to apply for jobs in the future. I want work opportunities (full time or side gig) to come to me based on my public reputation vis LinkedIn.

- helping people get into SaaS sales. Yeah yeah, it’s a bullshit answer for some but idc. This career has changed my life, I wouldn’t be here without people helping me. Just trying to pay it forward.

I do. Maybe bc it’s the only social media I have and I get business from it (visibiltiy by connections/referrals, and engagement via comments etc) I don’t take it as seriously as some of the team,  (it’s not heart surgery- I can have some fun with it when the mood strikes me) but I keep it mostly legit with the random dose of hilarity to show I’m not a Bot. One of my friends never posted - now looking for a job and it’s all over it like a super poster. Im a Once a week type poster, maybe do a liking spree to keep up and then back to work. :)

I’m constantly starting discussions about my industry and posting about products I represent because it keeps us (and me) top of mind for my clients. Additionally the bosses and manufacturers love that shit. It’s gotten me job offers, given me the opportunity to poach other manufacturers for my agency, and much much more

It’s more of a shaming during the weekly call, so I have some fun with it. The marketing team always comments about how they wished they thought of what I said for the post. They would have if they weren’t useless, i mean marketing…same thing
