European AE salaries

Ho Bravado community! It seems like the American salaries for AE positions are way higher than the fellow European ones. What are you thoughts about this? Can anyone from Europe share their OTE salary range to compare? Thank you in advance!

Your observation is correct - but I'd check those sources for comparison.
It also may matter if you are or are not working for a US based company.

I can elaborate here; US salaries in general tend to be ‘a bit higher’ give or take 10%. The good thing is it provides you with a great reference on what the company - assuming they’re US based - is willing to pay.

I’ve always used that information to get an idea where the company ranks in general and also used it to determine how big they are willing to go and leverage that in my own conversations.

As an Enterprise AE I’m currently on a €285K 50/50 split ex. add ons with 10+ yrs experience.

What I’ve seen in the past years is that salaries went up drastically in the EU. For example BDR’s moving into MM or ENT roles going from 60-75K OTE to 120-150K OTE.

Happy to talk if you want some advice.

I'm a Yankee, but I would recommend going on RepVue and Glassdoor to help with the search. This also helps with more specifics on OTE for the role, company and product. Hopefully you still get some good intel here!

Thanks 🙏 Glassdoor is not viable source lately, and tends to show 10-20% less than a real compensation

It does depend where in EMEA you are. As an American sales leader, I was shocked at the 'low' salaries in some European countries... until people pointed out what you get. For example, in the Netherlands, you'll likely get a company car stipend, gas card, the fact that it's almost impossible to fire you (at least not without tons of severance), etc. So yes your salary might be lower, but you get a lot of 'surround' with it.

An example number since you asked is a $300k OTE in the US but 150k Euros, that's what I saw in the most recent hiring.

Depends of the country and level of accommodation. If accommodation is reasonable, the AE salaries are lower. If accommodation is high so are the salaries. And as well of pension schemes and healthcare schemes.

I'd say Ireland for example is between 40k-60k base for AE with 3-5 years experience.

I think if you are a European Ae selling for a global European company and targetting global clients and especially Us ones then you should be paid fairly something close to what they pay in the Us.

Europe stinks man, Low salaries, high tax and no freedom.. My family is British, I live in Costa Rica and lived in Sweden. Costa Rica pays waaay less than europe but it is so much more worthy of living. To my standards, anyways
