Favorite Digital Deal Rooms

Hey! I received a proposal from a company today which included a link to a digital deal room. My company is still behind the times and rely on PDF proposals with an occasional loom video.

I’ve never heard of a deal room and my last deal was $500k….

No one uses them. It's a trick to sell more crap to salespeople.

Depends on your deal size. Mine are closer to $200K each, so its nice to have one place for everything you share. I could see with smaller deals that being an issue. My biggest pain is having multiple meetings with different stakeholders on the same topics and then having decks flying around

Mine are larger than 200K. No customer/prospect ever uses them.

Best thing to do is set up a slack/teams room and invite people from prospect into that.

I have not used a lot of deal room technology

Seismic has a nice deal room but I dislike everything else about it. Emails from Seismic look like spam and my customers never dared click on any links. Maybe it is the setup of the organization.

For sharing materials, I have liked using Microsoft Sway - newsletters, presentations, decks... Org just needs to allow external sharing on the settings. Included in the MS package.

I also have liked LinkedIn Sales Navigator and using Smart Link to send presentations and there you can add links and websites and people tend to trust it because they know the URL and it is included in Sales Nav so it is not a separate investment.

Curious to see what others say

Spot on.

Customers are very wary of logging into 3rd party accounts to view documents.

Never heard of it, so I had to look it up.

Seems like crap to me. Seriously. Looks like a solution looking for a problem. I have NEVER had the issues they talk about as addressing.

As far as "closing deals faster" - you will never close it fast enough, ever. And you can never go faster than the buyer wants to go.

My contracts already have everything in place that a Digital Deal Room does - and I don't pay anything more for it.

So if you want to waste money on a Digital Deal Room - go ahead. Seems like a waste to me.

We don't use a Digital Deal Room here either - and my deals are often $1M + for multiyear.

Considering that many of my customers have their own systems to manage proposals/RFP processes, with their own encryption and requirements, this is a nice idea that in practice could be limited. But that's my opinion based on my experience, which may not map to yours.

I took an ideals demo last year. Really liked it. Org couldn't afford it. Would love to know what the experience was like for you.

Used adobe spark for a long time for this sort of thing. Very cheap... however, they discontinued the product

I have admittedly never here of this. What is the difference between this and Google Meet? Zoom?

It's for follow ups really. How I do it: Send email attachment to prospect/customer and few links in text body.

Deal room: you use a page within something org has to pay for and it combines all the links, presentations and websites into one. Sounds handy but is spammy and useless. Sort of like Linktree but for materials.

Google Meet and Zoom are Virtua conferencing tools. Versus giving a person a folder with all the material they need.

Hope that clarified

Are you talking about Intralinks? It is extremely common in finance for venture capital and capital markets.
